Haxby Road News 20.9.19
A message from the Head of School…
This week the children have been visiting Beningbrough Hall to inspire their topic about ‘Made in Yorkshire.’ The children explored the Yorkshire Exhibition and the beautiful gardens. The children found out about lots of famous people born in Yorkshire. Thank you to the Friends of Haxby Road for our annual National Trust Membership .
The children have also been to visit Greenfields to see the plants that they have grown over the summer. The children planted a range of seeds in July and this week they got to see all their wonderful produce from sunflowers, green beans, courgettes, squash and pumpkins! All of our families are welcome to visit Greenfields.

4Family Community Cafe
Our 4 Family Community Café is now back open!
Every Monday and Tuesday the café will be open at 3.00pm until 4.15pm. The café is situated at the end of school, near the main car park. Everyone is welcome at the café.
The café provides our families with a chance to chill and relax in a friendly environment. We provide a range of hot drinks and food. There is a well-resourced play area for the children.
Please feel free to come to the café with your family.
Important Safeguarding concern
Due to new GDPR guidelines, we are no longer able to use Bloomz as a way of communicating with our parents. We would like to apologise that Bloomz will close down next week. Instead we are looking into using Seasaw to showcase the children’s learning and twitter. We will update you when these new systems are in place.
Early Years Doors: Under our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures we are unable to allow parents access from the Early Years Unit into the Key Stage 1 lower hall. If this causes problems for you, please can you come and speak to a member of the Pupil and Family Wellbeing Team. We will then be able to explain the safeguarding policy to you and find a solution to help you drop your children off at the correct entrance on time. Our key priority at all times is to ensure ALL children are safe and secure in school.
