Haxby Road Primary Academy After School Club has received City of York Council’s Inclusion Standards Gold certificate for completing all the standards of the Out of School Club Framework for Inclusion.
The Framework for Inclusion, developed by the Council’s Childcare Strategy Service, is a resource available to all out of school clubs in the city. It provides a supportive process of self-review, encouragement and development and allows teams working in out of school clubs to find their own ways to increase the participation of all children in play and learning.
Fiona Stock, Manager of Haxby Road Primary Academy After School Club says “The team have worked really hard to reach Gold Standard. I couldn’t have done it without my colleagues Lauren Powell and Diane Long, so a big thank you to them for all their efforts. We’re all really pleased that our work around inclusion is being recognised and celebrated in this way.”
Fiona and the team were presented with their certificate by Debbie Adair, City of York Council’s Access & Inclusion Support Adviser in a special assembly at the school on Friday.
